Providing training and equipment for farmers and applying gmp principles has helped to greatly improve the quality of iranian saffron. The saffron we offer whatever the form, whether bulk or small package (fraction of a gram), powder or filament, is guaranteed by our quality management system.
Our routine sampling and testing methods include thin layer chromatography for the detecting of added colorants, spectrophotometry for the measurement of coloring power, high performance liquid chromatography for the determination of safranal content, the aroma factor and other effective components S well as adulteration by added colorants, and microbiological tests for microbial flora. Tests are also performed for ash, moisture etc.
